My model is a complex 3D model consisting of elastic beams and shell elements. Is there any way to do static gravity analysis using the mass properties of beams and shells? Or atleast using uniform gravity loads like you find in any other commercial program (SAP2000, Abaqus, …)

So far the only solution I found is archaic and very disappointing for such a software. The gravity load for beams should be manually converted to nodal forces and moments and applied as a node force and for the shell elements I did not found any way to apply uniform gravity load.

Any help from experienced users? Does anyone know for other open source python FE solvers that can actually do static gravity analysis
